To complete the Adult Graduation Program, students (19 or older) must earn at least 20 credits in the secondary system or complete five courses in the post-secondary system. Courses and credits can be counted from the BC School System and / or the College ABE Program.

 

You will need 5 courses to graduate. A provincial or post-secondary level English course; An advanced or provincial or post-secondary level Mathematics course; three additional courses at the provincial or post-secondary level.

Electives: Advanced Social Sciences and two provincial or post-secondary level courses.

You may have taken one or two of these courses?

1.  English (Language Arts) at the Grade 12* or Provincial* level;

2.  Mathematics course at the Grade 11* or Advanced* or higher level;

 

And either:

 

Three other courses at the Grade 12* or Provincial* level or higher;

 

or:

 

* two other courses at the Grade 12*or Provincial* level or higher and Social Studies at the Grade 11* or Advanced* level.

*Grade 11 and Grade 12 refer to courses offered in the British Columbia School System while Advanced and Provincial Levels refer to courses offered in the College ABE System.

CAP (Community Access Program)

“Working with communities to develop and implement information and communication technologies, in support of Healthy Communities.”

We have 6 Toshiba Satellite Pro Laptop Computers for community members to use in the ANNEX.

Availability is on a first-come-first-served basis, with a computer session lasting for 1 hour.

Community Members can sign up and reserve their time in advance. Computer stations can be requested for longer than an hour, but this request must be made ahead of time!

                        JOB OPPORTUNITY

The Adult Education Program is posting for the position of  Computer Lab Supervisor to manage day-to-day operations of the Learning Center (Annex).    

QUALIFICATIONS:

-          Grade 12, or enrolled in the Adult Education Program and working toward Adult Graduation Diploma.

-          Knowledgeable of IT(Information Technology).

-          Advanced computer skills:  able to perform security/software updates;  familiar with System Tool applications; understand the difference between a modem and a router.

-          Research skills and experience with internet search engines.

-          Good communication skills, oral, written, and presentation.

-          Good interpersonal skills/ ability to relate to all types of people.

-          Suitable working in FN environment.
