Destin was one of the five successful candidates in her application for the Summer student employment program, she started the 8 week program on July 10^th 2017.

Destin has been actively participating in working on completing the mural that is being done in Kingcome village that represents Dzawada’enuxw traditional lands and wildlife. The mural also recognises the fight against fish farms that is endangering the natural resources of the community. Destin see’s this work as one of her more important accomplishment so far. Her specialties include babysitting and making people laugh.

Destin draws inspiration from her culture and elders. She has a keen interest in learning as much as she can about her cultures traditional ways: language, dances, medicine, traditional clothing and ceremonies.
